Merge 07:23
Merge There’s a dark pool in her soul that hides behind the light She wants to merge with me Cut off from her emotions working through the night Solving her mysteries Tell her your crime she’ll absolve your sin She’ll fuck you and she’ll leave you my flawed heroine Oooh She wants to merge with me Through twists and turns of the maze of crime She wants to merge with me Sleepless and broken now we’ve crossed the line She’s possessing me Tell me what you’ve done before its too late With a heart like Clint Eastwood no patience to wait Oooh She wants to merge with me It’s her that’s obsessively making me write I’m in love with this shadow I can no longer fight My head is throbbing and my visions blurred She’s dying for affection and a loving word She’s wants to merge with me Oooh She wants to merge with me She’s acting, I’m writing but who’s in control? She wants to merge with me Our boundaries are lost now but these moments are gold She’s possessing me I don’t know who’s real now I don’t even care Her breath's on my neck And my hands in her hair Oh I don’t want to kill you But how will this end? You have the gun love But I have the pen Oooh She wants to merge with me She wants to murder me © Sarah P 2014

In Your Eyes 05:44
Deep In Your Eyes Babe you got something and its making me lose control I’m really nothing special but anyway I thought you should know Girl what have you done? You’ve got me pacing round the kitchen like some caged cat Girl what have you done? I don’t know where my brains are at Deep in your eyes into love into lust Babe you’ve done something and it’s making me lose control And I’m really nothing special but anyway I thought you should know What did you put in my drink last night When I went out to make that call After that I didn’t feel right Lost to the world I could feel myself fall Deep in your eyes into love into lust Girl what have you done I was living happily quiet like a hermit Now you’ve come along but girl are you worth it? I’ve totally lost control of all reason I’m not eating or sleeping My only desire is for you Your lips your hands your flesh your ahhhhhhhh Deep in your eyes into love into lust © SarahP 2014

Fallen 04:45
Fallen Fallen, fallen, fallen, fallen I’ve fallen Sky take me back, I do not belong Down here said the child Like a stone Sky take me home I’m lonely here Fallen, fallen, fallen, fallen I’ve fallen Sky take me back, I have fallen down from your arms said the child To this world Sky take me home I have fallen down Fallen, fallen, fallen, fallen I’ve fallen Why do these angels have sad eyes? Where is my wolf, my butterflies? Bring me home Don’t like it here, please come take me Out of this place I’ll be dancing free In my home Fallen, fallen, fallen, fallen I’ve fallen Oh I’ve fallen Fallen © SarahP 2014

Billy’s vision quest Billy was an empath, his brain was wired a little differently to most. Billy was a sensitive boy he communicated easily with ghosts Billy came to life in nature but the city was quite a drain The vortex of digital electric stimulation was Pulsing like a rave in his brain Check my email look at the web What does my phone say, what does my phone say? Got five new texts, now where’s my game? I got a hundred thousand facebook friends Try to follow them all on their twitter feed And to balance it out he’s smoking skunk weed. Billy started painting a massive canvas on the floor Mountains and meadows came to life with his strokes And in the centre he painted a door He waited until midnight then cast the runes for a symbol to draw He chanted the chant he’d been given at seven Then he knocked three times on the door As if by magic it opened and there she stood like Kwan Yin Holding a bunch of herbs and flowers And with soft eyes smiling at him She said Welcome home Billy I’m your spiritual midwife I’m so pleased to see you again in this life Now come on in boy, take off your shoes We’ll soon find a way to get rid of those blues A little re wiring perhaps, maybe a new fuse And Billy said Hey there spiritual midwife Take me to the clouty tree and bathe me in the well of life Lay me on the Sarson stones I need to sense my feeling tones Put your hands on my head and chest Please take me on my vision quest! Young Billy your right of passage time has come Now lie down here give me the knife and the gun Oh little Billy there’s a hole in your heart But your spirit is strong and it shines through the art Now drink this tea of herbs, flowers and barks And a crystal elixir to see in the dark It’ll nourish your root, find the shoot of your disease And don't forget these mushrooms and leaves. Ok Billy lets go to download mode and let the story unfold In your head on the bed through your electromagnetic web There’ll be minute explosions of interior sound tones Chains of influence, interweaving chromosomes Let your emotions liberate your neurones I’ll be right here beside you gently holding your bones And Billy said - Hey there spiritual midwife Take me to the clouty tree bathe me in the well of life Lay me on the Sarsen stones I need to sense my feeling tones Put your hands on my head and chest Take me on my vision quest! Billiy’s vision took him to the Tzang mountains Where he saw the Daoist priestess Kwan Yin floating Above a meadow of the purest herbs Around her head a crown of golden humming birds She took little Billy by the hand to the beech trees Roots cascading to the sea of possibilities Billy you're all fire and wood Now you’ll need to move your body, move your qi to feel good. Hold my hands Billy the earths gonna rumble and quake Together they fell through the clouty tree to the jade purity lake Past the book of changes the six pipes and bells Billy heard a song as he woke up by the Madron well It said Dance with me, dance with me, dance with me, sing Sing me your song its your medicine dreaming Dance me the rhythms your hear in your bones Now can you sense your deep feeling tones. And Billy said - Hey there spiritual midwife Take me to the clouty tree bathe me in the well of life Lay me on the Sarsen stones I need to sense my feeling tones Put your hands on my head and chest Take me on my vision quest! “Ok Billy you’ll be alright now boy” “Thank you spiritual midwife” “That's ok Billy, just stay away from the skunk weed Billy” “Ok Spiritual midwife” “Bye Billy” “Bye spiritual midwife, see you in another seven years”

Sixty in Paris Sitting in a bar in the heart of the Marais Drinking Sancerre and Café au Lait. Watching chic petit ladies and tres jolie gay boys All doing their thing. The bells of Notre dame rang ding dong ding dong ding dong ding Happy Birthday Lady! Welcome to Paris You’re 60 today, this how you thought it would be? Your sixty in Paris, you’re free Now, Thirty years ago to this day She emigrated to the USA A terrible mistake, her Mother would say. It was predicted by the post mistress Vano in the Tarot. Born in Bangor, brought up in a Milltown Made famous by the legendary Ian Curtis. She went to the States with husband number one, They met in the RAF, got married, had two sons. Now only one survives, somewhere in the desert He’s tiling floors and chewing tobacco And holding the memory of his dead brother and his Fathers belt and hand. She’s 60 in Paris, she is free, she’s free She is 60 in Paris she is free. How she yearned to feel free of her past Fear and tragedy had carved a sharp edge in her heart. She escaped to Paris from her New Jersey life Where she had sat in the house and rocked and rocked and rocked and rocked. Looking at the walls and waiting for the phone to ring. The houses where a mile apart and the land was flat You couldn’t walk to shop, a café, a friend And there was no community, there was no community in the land of faceless flat. People had guns, panic rooms, gas guzzlers, swimming pools, oversized TV’s trips to malls, avoiding Ghettos And Tom's river had been toxic with illegal waste. Her 60th birthday created a doorway For the magic of Paris to enter the old wounds. She sat and wept and wept by the Seine in the sun And the river rose up to embrace her pain Whispered “never again the victim my friend.” Let me transform the streams of past tears No more limitations you’ve paid too much with your years Now let yourself free from the bonds of your grief its really alright now to feel some relief. You’re sixty in Paris you're with me and you’re free From today you will sparkle in the world Like I sparkle for you on this glorious day. You will be magnificent like Notre Dame and Le Hotel de Ville You will view your life from Ciel de Paris With breath taking heights, 360 degrees of visibility. You’re sixty in Paris you’re free, you’re free” She said “I am sixty in Paris, I am free” I can never go back to live in New Jersey I will learn to speak French and rent an apartment with a view of the Seine I will paint and sing on the street, walk everywhere and wear colours of flowing cloth and I will laugh and I will love, I will love my friends and I will love my community and I will love my freedom, my freedom, my freedom… She is 60 in paris she is free…… © SarahP 2014

Full Moon Night The full moon night always brings her down. As she drives through the streets of the east end of town She sees her through the tower blocks Shining like a spotlight In the orange grey out sky of another urban night As the pretty party people glitter, littering up the streets All excited by the prospect of who they might meet She says I can’t stay here On the full moon night its best if your stay clear Cos if I stay with you, you’ll see all the crazy things I do And I know I’m gonna hurt you and make you cry She goes to a bar its in the heart of the town, But the bar feels like a dream cave its got way too many sounds She’ll pass some time with that shy handsome man and a good red wine. God she wants to dance with him, wants to dance and have some fun, but she holds herself back cos she knows what’s to come She says I can’t stay here On the full moon night its best if your stay clear Cos if I stay with you, you’ll see all the crazy things I do And I know I’m gonna hurt you and make you cry As her shadow makes a break for the surface Her face cracks another smile And with her last drop of grace, She nods then she free falls out of the place Home to the garden it’s the safest place But the full moon light’s shining right on her face. She drops to her knees her hormones are hectic, By the silver birch trees her nerve ends electric. Like a thousand spiders crawling under her skin Her hearts thumping like a jack in a box in a spin. The transformation's radical painfully tragic her new form And she’ll wear it till dawn, When the new sunlight always brings her round. She says I can’t stay here On the full moon night its best if your stay clear Cos if I stay with you, you’ll see all the crazy things I do And I know I’m gonna hurt you and make you cry. © SarahP 2014

Sappho’s Rock Within the hour the sun would set behind the rocks Behind Sappho’s head, Where she stares from her bed of rippling sea Mouth open in a gasp of eternal ecstasy She never moves. Her rugged face, broad shoulders, jagged, lined coarse beauty a constant presence Witnessing, sheltering the events of time without judgement. There’s no Judgement. In the seventies the Mohican banshees worshipped, climbed and Claimed her as their own. Wild naked punk girls wearing only knives and hair. Fire in their eyes, bellies and loins Youthful aggression, anarchic anger. Wild, wild women tasting of salt and sun All breast, bronze and sexual tension, Initiation and fucking in the sand. Drums and didges, dancing round the fire at night Skinny dipping, swimming the path of moonlight Those Amazon activists ruled for their time But too loud, too loud, too long Too bold too brazen and way too scary!! For the local men they’d rejected returned, they huffed and they puffed and they burned their camp down. Now Forty years on, it’s wind surfs, sailboats and canoes. Tourists they are playing in the sheltered cove of Sappho’s elbow. Patricia picks up cigarette butts from the hot dry sand Patricia In front of her World Spirit caravan Where musicians of the world they come and Jamm, come and jamm In their own free way, Well, that’s what the signs say! Patricia cooks and serves all night and day Omelettes, salads, crepes, fresh juice Mythos, frappes and her mystical mojitos. Wooden benches , yellow canvas chairs, Flags of Africa, South America under the palm tree roof Rebuilt each year by Thanasi. A gentle Athenian artist he had a look of Che Guevara, wearing self inflicted Navy tattoos, ‘make love not war, LSD He had an ability to create wondrous 3D worlds with his hands Moulding metal into Sculpture and precious jewels. Gigantic shells of spiralling silver live in the garden of the house they build. Year after year they build this house, this work of love, art, sweat and beauty. One day they will live there, but money is tight, tight, tight. Thanasi still smoking too much spin me some cool sounds, some me some Jazz, Funk, Reggae and Dub, come on Thanasi spin me some dub! Patricia swallowed the languages of the world young Patricia gifted of ear and of tongue, without Patricia there is nothing at all. How we love Patricia. Patricia hands me a disc of heavy raw silver a gift from Thanasi Carved on the disc is the head of Sappho rugged and course Just like the rock her Jagged lined course beauty a constant presence, Witnessing, sheltering the events of time without judgement Mouth always open in a gasp of eternal ecstasy and she never moves. © SarahP 2014

Feather 05:27
Feather in your hat Keep a feather in your hat for me babe As a symbol of your love Keep a feather in your hat and my ring on your finger Under those blue velvet gloves I have a photograph of you Black and white, creased and torn I keep it here close to my heart in my pocket It’s tatty and ripped and it’s worn Found a feather in the dry dusty sand babe Stained with oil and the blood of my friend Put the feather in my hat but I knew then my love That this politicians war would never end I have a photograph of you Black and white, creased and torn I keep it here close to my heart in my pocket It’s tatty and ripped and it’s worn And I don’t know if I’m going to make it Though I try so hard for my men My nerves are shredded I’m battered and worn Like my photograph of you I’m all ripped and I’m torn So keep a feather in your hat for me babe Keep it there till the end of my tour Keep a feather in your hat and my ring on your finger Lets hope I get home from this war But I have my photograph of you Black and white, creased and torn I keep it here close to my heart in my pocket It’s tatty and ripped and its worn Its worn from the kisses I plant on your paper face Gentle love you’re my lifeline You keep me sane in this harsh place I’m Light as a feather © SarahP 2014

about

In a media world that can manipulate the ‘perfect’ look, the ‘perfect’ sound FLAWED HEROINE, Lund’s first album is inspired by some of the beautifully flawed people that they’ve met on their journey so far.

“They flow from ambient spaciness and spoken poetics, to Buddy Holly Jive and assorted funk, Creamish heavitude, even Reggae, all convincing, yet all outshone when on Fallen guitarist Deirdre Cartwright and drummer Ann Day channel the skippy-dippy Police sparkle of Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. The unruly element in LUND is singer lyrist Sarah P who lets go with fire and flair” MOJO APRIL 2015

"Fabulous album, riveting material, sublime musicianship, MERGE instantly sweeps you up in a passionate embrace of shivering guitar and intriguing lyrics," MUSICIAN MAGAZINE, MARCH 2015
